  Let's start with the major principles of the constitution. Did you know there are 7 major principles?
 
 
 
 
 
 
1.) Popular Sovereignty:
 
                     This principle states that people are the source of governments power.
 
2.) Republicanism:
   
                      Republicanism allows our people to elect their political representatives.
 
3.) Limited Government:
 
                       In the Constitution, it states that government actions are limited by a list of powers it does and does not have.
 
4.) Federalism:
 
                       With this system, national and state government's power is shared between the two.
 
5.) Separation Of Powers:
 
                       In this principle, it states that each branch, meaning the Executive, Judicial, & Legislative,  has it's own responsibilities.
 
6.)Checks and Balances
 
                       Checks and Balances allows each branch to have some control over the other two branches.
 
7.)Individual Rights
 
                       The Bill of Rights guaranteed citizen's rights and liberties.
